Day 1: Johannesburg to Timbavati Private Nature Reserve
Depart from Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport on a flight to Hoedspruit Airport. You will be met and transferred by road to your safari lodge in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. The lodge caters for family holidays and small groups with ease. And for newlyweds, after months of planning for the big day, the Honeymoon Suite will be a welcome retreat.
You enjoy three nights and four days in comfort whilst exploring the wonders of the Timbavati. The lodge is well positioned in this special nature reserve, home to an astonishing array of African animals including the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard).
Day 2: Safari Lodge in Timbavati
The lodge provides an excellent escape from busy schedules and city stresses, with well-appointed thatched chalets overlooking a private waterhole. You can rise early for the dawn game drive or simply relax and watch the wildlife at the water's edge. Morning game drives stop for a refreshment and snack en-route and then return to the lodge for a fortifying breakfast.
Your day is at leisure to enjoy as you please. You could choose a spot in the comfy main lounge and bar area or on the game viewing deck, alternately there is the inviting pool and sun deck. Following afternoon tea, the evening game drive departs. Your ranger will stop along the way for sundowners at a scenic setting and on your return journey, you could spot the movement of the nocturnal game.
Day 3: Safari Lodge in Timbavati
The lodge serves breakfast and lunch on the main deck and unlimited teas and coffees are available. Guests are often entertained by the antics of the resident warthog family on the grounds. In between game drives, you could spend quality family time together at the lodge, shop for curios or enquire about interesting excursions available in the surrounding area.
Dinners are served in the atmospheric boma (outdoor enclosure). You enjoy wonderful meals and fine wines by lantern light around a big fire. With the background of night calls in the bush, the Rangers share fireside stories before you retire to your chalet.
Day 4: Timbavati Private Nature Reserve to Johannesburg
On the final day of your Authentic Adventure Safari Package you will partake in a morning activity and after breakfast, you say a fond farewell until the next time. You take your return road transfer from to Hoedspruit Airport for your flight back to O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
