RockFig’s custom-built game viewing vehicles are comfortable and fully-equipped with blankets, binoculars, and preferred refreshments for guests. Each vehicle is limited to a maximum of 4 guests, ensuring plenty of legroom, an intimate game viewing experience, and a ‘window’ seat, which makes picture-taking an absolute pleasure. Family groups get their own private vehicle, which means that there are no age restrictions on game drives, with flexible start and end times.
Guided walking safaris from RockFig Safari Lodge are a magical way to experience Timbavati on foot, so be sure to pack your walking shoes. The expert guides will show you a whole new perspective of the South African bush, looking out for fresh scat and spoor, tree markings and bends in the grass, all signs that will allow them to teach you about the types of animals that may have passed along the path during the evening. Guests as young as 14 are welcome and encouraged to participate in these guided bush walks.
Bush dining takes on a whole new level at RockFig Safari Lodge. Mealtimes will be something to look forward to each day whether it’s a cheeky morning Mimosa from the bush bar or a prized piece of venison cooked to perfection straight over the sizzling coals. The combination of starlight, lantern light and firelight adds to the magic of bush boma dinners, along with the sound of animals calling out into the night. Need we say more?
