Motswari Game Lodge is located in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa. The Timbavati Game Reserve boasts diverse game and bird species including the famous Big Five. Guests can access Timbavati Private Game Reserve and Motswari Game Lodge either by road or air.
From Johannesburg follow the N12 which leads past Benoni, Witbanks and Middleburg. Follow the signs and turnoff for Belfast. Turn right onto the R540 and continue through Dullstroom. Follow the signs to and through Lydenburg and Ohrigstad.
Continue on the R36 over the Abel Erasmus Pass towards Hoedspruit. You will enter Hoedspruit on the R527. Once you're in Hoedspruit, continue through the 4-way stop and over the small bridge. At the intersection, turn right onto the R40 towards White River.
Travel for 7km (4.34 miles) and turn left at the Eastgate Airport sign on to the Timbavati Road. After entering the Timbavati Private Game Reserve gate, follow the Motswari signs for the remaining 4km (2.48 miles). The drive from Johannesburg will take between 5 to 6 hours.
Follow the R71 towards Gravelotte and Tzaneen. After about 8km (4.97 miles), turn left onto the R40 to Mica and Hoedspruit. Stay on the R40 through Mica to Hoedspruit for about 67km (41.63 miles).
When you arrive in Hoedspruit, do not turn right over the bridge and into the town; carry on through the intersection for about 7km (4.34 miles) before turning left onto the Timbavati Road. Once you've entered through the gate, follow the Motswari signs for the remaining 4km (2.48 miles). The drive will take about 2 hours.
